JACKIE LUSSON: Sun Health Senior Living creates and manages exceptional senior life care communities in the State of Arizona, totally focused on healthy living.
WHAT IS LIFE CARE? Life care is actually a strategic comprehensive choice for seniors. It gives people the power today to choose and make plans for the future – who will care for them, how they will care for them and when.
It is very powerful when you’re in charge of yourself for the rest of your life, knowing that no one else can come in to make those decisions. You’ve already made them.
That’s the power of life care.
WHAT IS A LIFE CARE COMMUNITY? A life care community gives a person freedom of choice, freedom to actually make the decisions for themselves – who will care for them if they ever needed care.
It also gives that peace-of-mind that I don’t have to be a burden to my spouse or children, because I’ve already made the plans.
If I ever need healthcare, I know who’s caring for me, how they are caring for me and when they are caring for me.
It’s proven that a life care community actually gives an enhanced health span for people.
ADDRESSING COMMON CONCERNS ABOUT AGING AND RETIREMENT: Some of the questions that people ask themselves when they’re alone are, “how do I maintain my independence for the rest of my life” Will I outlive my resources?”
A life care community answers those questions for them. They will know exactly who would care for them, how they would be cared for, where they would be cared for. They’ve been in charge of this, they make the decisions.
They will know for the rest of their life exactly what it will cost for the rest of their life, they don’t have to worry about that. And in today’s society where costs keep increasing and your monthly income keeps getting a bite out each time, they will know that they don’t have to worry about that. They’ve already been approved medically and financially with a life care community.
WHAT FINANCIAL RESOURCES WILL I NEED TO JOIN A LIFE CARE COMMUNITY? When people come to us, they have a home that they are living in, so what I like them to do is look at the value of their home and if they take 85% of that value, then look at the entrance fee that is within the same range, that will generally give them a good starting point. Once they meet with one of our residency counselors, they will sit with them, guide them into what plan – what agreement – would best suit their needs.
WHERE DOES SUN HEALTH OPERATE ITS LIFE CARE COMMUNITIES? There actually are 14 life care communities in Arizona. I’m proud to say that Sun Health owns three of them, including The Colonnade in Surprise, La Loma Village in Litchfield Park, and Grandview Terrace in Sun City West.
