barbara-mason-brad-reedThe Pittsburgh native brings a varied background to the job, which includes experience in sales and marketing, counseling, clinical care and musical theater.

“Barbara’s unique mix of skills will help us build on the success of Sun Health at Home,” said Jennifer Drago, executive vice president of Population Health, who oversees SHAH.

The program is regulated by the Arizona Department of Insurance and has grown to 24 members since it was launched last January. In exchange for an entrance fee and monthly fee, SHAH members are comprehensively covered for long-term care, wellness and other non-medical needs, which are coordinated by SHAH employees called “wellness coordinators.”

Before coming to SHAH, Ms. Mason was the territory manager for Mobilex USA, the oldest and largest mobile diagnostic service provider in the United States, serving more than 6,000 health facilities, including long-term care centers. She managed accounts across Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky and earned numerous awards for exceeding sales goals and retaining customers.

Her work history also includes serving as the program manager of a criminal justice and men’s residential chemical dependency unit; directing a Health One Occupational Medicine clinic; and managing a variety of medical practices, ranging from plastic surgery, to podiatry to orthopedics.

In addition, Ms. Mason was a professional dancer and singer for several years in New York and London, where she performed in multiple musical-theater productions.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, playing golf, following sports and spending time with her husband and family.
