Sun Health President and CEO Joe La Rue is serving on a critical task force relating to COVID-19 and when it will be safe again or families to visit loved ones in long-term care facilities.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced the formation of this task force last week. Joe will be amongst health care and Arizona congressional leaders to establish guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Sun Health is honored to serve on this task force as we carry out our mission of “envisioning a world where people live longer, healthier, more purposeful lives.”
“This work is very important as loved ones and their families have been kept separate for so long. As our state works to keep the Coronavirus from spreading, eventually there will be a time that it is safe to allow families to visit in-person with their older family members. However, those decisions cannot be taken lightly. This task force will study data and gather together to establish protocols for re-opening campuses across our state.” Joe shares. “I am appreciative that the Governor asked Sun Health, as a leader of health and well-being services for aging populations for more than 50 years, to join this group.”
Arizona LeadingAge CEO Pam Koester suggested Joe for this task force. “I felt Joe and Sun Health were good partners to be on this task force as Sun Health has three Life Plan communities representing all levels of service with a large staff and large number of residents. Joe will bring a great perspective to the committee that few other leaders can.”
