Sun Health and ‘iN2L’ Celebrating Engaging Seniors with Tech
iN2L to Visit Sun Health Communities Oct. 25 as Part of Cross-country Tour
SURPRISE, ARIZ. – October 24, 2019 – Residents living in Sun Health’s three Life Care Communities are having fun with It’s Never 2 Late® (iN2L) technology that’s helping them reconnect with the world and each other. The i2NL team will be visiting Sun Health Oct. 25 during its 60/20 tour, a cross-country road trip celebrating 20 years of operations. The tour kicked off in August with stops across the U.S. and will end next month in Toronto.
iN2L educational programs keep older adults connected and energized through touchscreens that are easy to use and help them exercise their minds and bodies in fun and engaging ways. Sun Health started using iN2L technology at its La Loma Village for life enrichment activities in 2014. La Loma Village in Litchfield Park won a LeadingAge Arizona Innovation Award in 2015 recognizing the innovative use of iN2L technology to enhance the lives of residents. Sun Health Communities Grandview Terrace in Sun City West and The Colonnade in Sun City Grand have also implemented iN2L technologies over the last few years.
“Sun Health is committed to providing the highest quality of life to our residents and use of iN2L digital engagement technology has enhanced our life enrichment activities,” says Bhakti Gosalia, vice president of Operations for Sun Health Communities. “The iN2L tour will be visiting our campuses on Oct. 25 and our residents are looking forward to activities, presentations and cake to celebrate the company’s 20th birthday.”
Residents will hear from iN2L President and Co-founder Jack York and special guest presenter Francis Njuakom Nchii, founder and chief executive of Community Development Volunteers for Technical Assistance. The latter group promotes care for the elderly in Cameroon, Africa. He will share his inspirational work of improving livelihoods, well-being and social care activities for disadvantaged older adults in hard-to-reach poor communities.
Celebrations will occur as follows on Friday, Oct. 25:
- 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. — La Loma Village, 14154 S. Denny Blvd., Litchfield Park
- 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. – The Colonnade, 19116 N. Colonnade Way, Surprise
- 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Grandview Terrace, 14515 W. Granite Valley Dr., Sun City West
“Without the support of organizations like Sun Health, our idea of using technology to engage seniors would not have grown from being a novelty to being part of the highest standard of care for senior living residents,” said York, who also turns 60 this year, which is why the tour is called 60/20.
