  3. Seniors, Get Ready for Golf Season With These Exercises

Post date:

We love golf. Not only is it a wonderful excuse to get outdoors and socialize, it’s excellent exercise. Shoulders, back, legs… so many muscles get a workout! And for those who choose not to ride a golf cart, walking the course is a very beneficial low-impact cardiovascular exercise.

After not golfing all summer (or winter, depending on where you live), muscles can get a bit out of shape. So before you pack up your golf bag and head out, try some of these simple exercises from How Stuff Works to loosen up your body.

To prevent injury, the PGA also recommends stretching exercises like these before and after each game: http://go.pga.com/1l91ndw

Just for fun, we can’t resist sharing this last video of senior golf exercises using… of all things… a broom! Take a look below.

If you’re a golf lover who’s always wanted to play the courses at Pebble Beach (golfer’s heaven!), don’t forget to buy a ticket for this year’s “Lexus Champions For Charity”  drawing. Proceeds benefit Sun Health Foundation programs and, if you win, you and a golf buddy get to play THREE of Pebble Beach’s storied courses! Click here to learn more.
