Whether you’ve been researching for months, or you’re just beginning to compare your retirement options, chances are you have lots of questions about Life Care communities—specifically luxury Life Care communities. And no matter how many pamphlets you read or virtual tours you take, you’re still probably a little unsure about what it’s like to actually live in one of these communities.
Of course, not all Life Care communities are the same, not all residents have the same interests and your days will vary as much or as little as you’d like. We’ve put together an example of how a typical “day in the life” at a luxury Life Care community may look.
Morning
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and there’s certainly no excuse to skip it when you have excellent dining options. Many Life Care communities offer multiple dining facilities and rotating menus, so you won’t be at risk of getting bored with your meals.
After breakfast, you can enjoy a workout with a personal trainer or take a few laps around the walking track. Don’t forget to check the monthly activities calendar. Whether it’s a speaker series, craft classes, shopping trips or other outings, there’s almost always something going on.
Afternoon
When lunchtime rolls around, you can join a friend for a relaxing meal in the restaurant of your choice and catch up over good conversation. After a morning full of activities, you may feel the need to relax a bit, so stop by the spa for a rejuvenating treatment or grab a new book from the library and curl up at home.
Thanks to housekeeping services, you won’t have to worry about wasting your time on any household chores, so feel free to put your feet up and relax for a few hours.
Evening
Feeling fancy? Put on your best outfit and enjoy a formal dinner from one of the resort-quality chefs. And don’t worry if you have specific dietary concerns—many Life Care communities have certified gluten-free options and can accommodate any necessary restrictions.
After dinner, be sure to check what’s playing in the movie theater. If you aren’t interested in catching a movie, you can always play a game of cards or billiards … or put on your bathing suit and enjoy an evening dip in the pool.
By now, you’ve had a pretty full day, so you may be ready to call it a night. Don’t worry if you didn’t get around to doing everything you wanted to do, though. Tomorrow’s another day and there will be just as many available Life Care community amenities and activities to keep you busy and entertained.
