Last month, La Loma’s new Art Specialist, Zarinah Diaz held a special event, called “Meet the Artist.” Zarinah shared and answered questions about her family, her education, her skill sets and past accomplishments. She also presented on the upcoming classes and opportunities this fall including a future wine & paint fall crafting night, jewelry making, community-wide art projects, boutique pumpkin painting, and much more! It sounds like a lot of fun in store for residents.

Life Enrichment’s Darcy Andelin created a Mobility Review Prep Class to get residents ready to take the upcoming Masterpiece Mobility Reviews! She is going over the skillsets in the Mobility Review, helping residents learn technique and form to get them strong and keep them safe. Mobility Reviews will be held from October 4 through October 8.

Community birthday parties are back! The team, with safety at the forefront, brought together Health and Rehabilitation, Assisted Living and Independent Living residents together to celebrate birthdays during the month. The welcome back party had a Hawaiian theme as residents enjoyed spending time together.

And lastly, the community held a great Oktoberfest celebration! Residents enjoyed dancing the tunes of the Polka band, Polka Zona, while eating a delicious dinner and enjoying some Oktoberfest beer!

And all enjoyed a super special moment when residents, Marty Goppert and Isabel Clarke, both former drum majorettes, led us in “When the Saints Go Marching In!” A great time was had by all!
