It’s been a busy month as La Loma’s fabulous Life Enrichment team launches its Masterpiece Living “Living It” campaign.
La Loma Village kicked off October with their Opportunities Fair and Karaoke Party, where residents could learn about all the month’s offerings, sign up for a Mobility Review, and take their annual Lifestyle Review. Karaoke followed, and the singers came out in droves as it was our first time since Covid rocked our world.
Sun Health’s VP of Real Estate Planning and Development, Paul Vanderveen, presented through our Lifelong Learning program, sharing his experiences and passions for locating and documenting petroglyphs.
The LLV arts programming was in full force, with boutique pumpkin decorating. a wine & crafting night, and a beautiful community-wide art project for our Alzheimer’s walk. Residents and staff were invited to decorate feathers, in honor of a loved one, and Zarinah Diaz, our LE Art Specialist, turned them into “Angels Wings of Hope & Love for Alzheimer’s”.
On top of that LLV held its annual Alzheimer’s Walk was Oct. 21, and we had a blast walking around Independent Living. We had several “cheering” stations, and even an “Ink & Drink” spot, with fun purple drinks and temporary tattoos.
Then it was a special time for pets as Spiritual Life led the annual “Pet Blessing” with lots of fun for all our furry loved ones.
And of course, residents finished off the month by celebrating Halloween by decorating doors and pumpkins in preparation for the annual Halloween Howl Costume Contest Happy Hour.
Last, but not least, Sun Health President Joe La Rue, along with LLV Directors and Managers worked the dining area and gave our well deserving dining team members the day off with pay!
