Barbara Mason, newly named vice president of Home and Community Based Services, shared they not only recently achieved their goal of reaching 100 members, but exceeded it – and have several more interested in joining. The program, which is the first of its kind in Arizona, was launched in January 2016 and is the fasted growing “continuing care at home” program in the country. CCAH programs help people age successfully in the home they love by providing health navigation and supportive services to meet each individual’s personalized needs.
“All of our team members deserve recognition for their incredible work. Nicole, who is fairly new to her role as a membership counselor, has been very creative in her outreach,” says Barbara with a smile in her voice, “This includes having socially distanced meetings in yards. Nicole bought a camping chair for these meetings and wears protective gear (gloves, masks) while documents are passed safely back and forth. There have also been online meetings, virtual discovery seminars and telephone conferences.”
Members of the program not only live across the Valley from Wickenburg to Goodyear and from Cave Creek to Paradise Valley. And, a couple who recently moved back to New Jersey are still enjoying the benefits of this award-winning program through the program’s portability option.
The team is not only creative when it comes to prospective members, but current members get treated to a lot of chuckles with a very popular activity called Daily Dose of Laughter. Residents actually send in their favorite jokes of the day to spread cheer.
And not only are members sharing giggles, but they also participate in weekly Zoom chats and are getting treated to trips around the world via social sharing as people are encouraged to share vacation pics from past trips. Some recent destinations shared include the famous Colosseum in Rome, Italy, and a trip to England.
Great job to the SHAH team for all your inspiring work!
